Lazarchick Calls for More Economic Development for Underserved Western Atlantic County

(MAYS LANDING) Susan Lazarchick is running for Fifth District Commissioner in Atlantic County, advocating for greater accountability and focused economic development in the district, which includes Hammonton, Egg Harbor City, Mullica Township, Folsom, the Township of Hamilton (Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 12), Buena Boro, Buena Vista Township, Weymouth Township, Estell Manor, and Corbin City.

Susan believes that the Fifth District is underserved. The county’s economic development has focused on the shore and the center, leaving our district behind. “While my opponent has praised the current administration's economic efforts, these projects have not benefited our district,” she stated. The Atlantic County Utility Authority and the County government provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding to the Atlantic County Economic Alliance, yet initiatives like the Ducktown Revitalization Program and the second building for the Aviation Research Park are focused outside our area.

“I will prioritize the Fifth District,” Susan emphasized. This includes assisting Egg Harbor City with its revitalization efforts, supporting Hammonton in developing its industrial park, and enhancing the agricultural sector to create well-paying jobs. By harnessing our natural beauty and rural areas, she wants to promote agro- and ecotourism, ultimately boosting local economies. Additionally, Susan is committed to collaborating with federal and state representatives to secure benefits from the Inflation Reduction Act and resources like community development grants and workforce programs to enhance economic growth in our district. Susan is dedicated to being actively involved in the community to ensure small businesses, individuals, and families thrive.
