About Chairman Suleiman
Michael Suleiman is a dedicated public servant who puts the needs of the community first. For six years, Suleiman worked as a trusted aide and advisor to the late State Senator Jim Whelan, crafting public policy that benefited New Jersey’s middle-class and seniors. He also helped residents cut through bureaucratic red tape in Trenton so they could get the help they needed more quickly. Currently, Suleiman works as the Manager of Government Relations at the South Jersey Transportation Authority. Suleiman was named one of our region’s “Top 40 Under 40” by Atlantic City Weekly. He was a member of the Stockton University Veterans Advisory Board and previously served on the Galloway Township Superintendent’s Advisory Team, acting as a liaison between the school district and the community at-large.
Suleiman has been involved in the Democratic Party since he was a teenager, using his enthusiasm and people skills to rejuvenate the Democratic Party in Galloway Township and Atlantic County. He was elected county chair in 2016, becoming the youngest county chair of either political party in the state's history. Suleiman was re-elected in 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2024.
Suleiman graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University and obtained a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government. He lives in Galloway Township.
