Joanne Famularo is a semi-retired small businesswoman who is currently serving her second term on Pleasantville City Council. During her business career, Joanne owned two successful small businesses in Pleasantville, Deli du Jour and Mainland Monuments. Currently, Joanne owns and operates 3 Wise Women LLC, a property management company. As a businesswoman, Joanne values fiscal responsibility and driving economic growth in our area. Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Joanne spent significant time as a dedicated casino employee at the original Golden Nugget in Atlantic City. Her roles ranged from a dealer to a beverage manager, providing her with valuable insights into the hospitality industry. During her tenure on City Council, Joanne has been a staunch advocate for making Pleasantville more affordable. She spearheaded efforts to defeat a proposed pay increase for council members and effectively halted a detrimental deal aimed at privatizing the sewer system and inflating sewer rates. Joanne has consistently prioritized enhancing the quality of life for residents, demonstrated by her leadership as chair of Pleasantville’s recreation committee and her active involvement in the planning & development and public service committees. Prior to her service on City Council, Joanne contributed to the Pleasantville community by serving on the Pleasantville Board of Education. During her tenure, she fiercely opposed attempts to politicize the educational system and diligently worked to enhance recreational programs for at-risk youth. Additionally, Joanne's expertise was recognized as she served as the Chair of the Pleasantville Planning Board, where she played a vital role in shaping the city's development trajectory. As a lifelong resident of Atlantic County, Joanne is deeply ingrained in the fabric of the community. She actively participates in organizations such as the Mainland-Pleasantville NAACP and the Pleasantville AARP, underscoring her commitment to fostering inclusivity and advocating for the well-being of all residents.
